New Ways to Fight Diabetes

There are two new weapons in the fight against diabetes, and they may reduce the need for insulin injections. The drugs are called Avandia and Actos. They are specifically for people with type 2 diabetes. Researchers say they target the underlying cause of the disease — insulin resistance. (more…)

Abdominal Fat May Raise Boys’ Blood Pressure

You may already know that excess fat around the middle is linked to an increased risk of heart disease in adults, but now research suggests that it may also contribute to high blood pressure in boys. This is another reason to encourage people to be more active at a young age.

Woe is I

I do not feel like trying on anything today, most especially my weight. I do not want to think about it, and I do not care. I don’t even want to write about it, but I have a deadline to meet for FitnessHeaven.com.

But I know that as much of a bad attitude as I’ve got today, I will care if, for too long, I continue down this dark and self-pitying alley. (more…)
